Jana Schmidt – Freelancer for Web Design and Podcast Management

Hello, I’m Jana – Freelancer for Web Design and Podcast Management

As a freelancer for web design and podcast management, I primarily support solo entrepreneurs, coaches, trainers, podcasters, and small businesses who want to publish their content professionally – without having to struggle with technology, website maintenance, or episode uploads in the evenings or on weekends.

What sets me apart: I don’t work by the book. Thanks to my many years of experience across different fields and close collaboration with external service providers, I know how frustrating it is when no one thinks ahead or considers the impact of small changes on the overall project. I bring this perspective to every podcast project and every web design implementation I work on.

How did I get into Web Design and Podcast Management?

My professional journey started in 2006 as a foreign language assistant at Hengeler Mueller, an international law firm in Düsseldorf, Germany. A year later, I moved to the Australian outback and worked in the office of a DIY and irrigation business in Alice Springs, where I learned how to plan effective marketing campaigns together with local designers – always with a focus on what is realistic and practical.

Back in Germany, I spent more than ten years in purchasing and sales, managing international projects for TV shopping clients such as QVC UK, QVC France, and TVSN Australia. Regular coordination with partners in London, Paris, Milan, and Sydney was part of my daily work – including project coordination, product development, and professional English communication across different time zones.

My step into self-employment grew out of my personal podcast project Fielou and a deep interest in audio storytelling. Today, as a Germany-based freelancer for web design and podcast management, I combine podcast experience, technical know-how, and structured organisation. In February 2026 I completed advanced training in web development, online marketing, and multimedia creation with AI to connect podcasts, websites, and content creation even better – and to continuously expand my services for English-speaking clients worldwide.

Jana Schmidt – Fun Facts

A few things you should know about me

  • Relaxation with side effects: Building Lego sets and solving puzzles is my evening unwind – much to my daughter's dismay when I "borrow" a piece she needs.
  • Fridge gourmet: Pasta always boils over and eggs are either too soft or too hard at my place. But I create surprisingly good dishes from whatever's left in the fridge.
  • Sport, differently: Workouts sometimes happen between the dishwasher and the clothesline.
  • Nickname "Eagle Eye": Spelling mistakes, layout issues, broken links – I spot them all. Perfect for clean websites and podcast show notes.

Who I work best with

I work best with people who know what they want – or at least know what they no longer want to do themselves. If you're looking for a reliable partner who works in a structured way, thinks ahead and doesn't escalate every small detail: this is a good fit. If you need someone to develop your ideas first and then implement them – let's find out in a discovery call whether and how that could work.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why did I specialize in podcast management and web design?

The starting point was my own podcast project Fielou — where I built all the technical workflows. That made it clear how much goes into a professional podcast. Web design followed as a logical step: if you want to be heard, you also need to be found.

How do I work with my clients?

We start with a free discovery call — no consulting, just a first conversation to see if we're a good fit. You then receive a custom proposal with clearly defined tasks and transparent pricing. We agree together on communication and workflows.

Why do I work differently from many other service providers?

I know the frustration when projects start with service providers and extra costs appear bit by bit. That's why I communicate clearly from the start what's included in the price — no hidden items, no surprises. That creates real planning security.
